Why Do You Need To Backup Your Device?

buy The Photo Stick Omni

Why is it important to make a backup of your devices if you have all of your data on cloud storage? Sometimes when I write articles about backing up your computer I notice comments from people who claim to keep their data in iCloud, Dropbox, or some other cloud-based storage system which is why they do not feel the need to back up their computer or iOS device in another way.

It's true that cloud-based storage services are fantastic to keep your most valuable documents safe, but it's not all there is to backup your information. Speaking from experience, restoring everything stored on your phone or computer is difficult when the only place your data is stored is the cloud.

Because of the nature of my job I often restore my Mac or iPhone to a new state so that I can write up detailed instructions on how to restore from backups, starting over and doing clean installations of operating systems and more. It's something I hate however it is what I do because am a lover of you and want you to know the right steps.

Trust me when I say that it's frustrating and tiring to build the iPhone, iPad or Mac from scratch. More than photos, documents and other information you can quickly access from cloud-based storage services.

Where are my applications?

The issue with starting with a brand new device isn't that you have lost your data; it's that all your apps have disappeared. Yes, you can download all those .doc documents from Dropbox however, you'll not be able to open them until you've reinstalled a word processing program.

Your photos are probably safe in OneDrive, but if you need to alter them, you'll need to find that software for photo editing you love and download it again. Your internet connection will be affected if you try to download multiple documents to your Mac. Starting over takes time and really messes with productivity. Stop being so bizarre

The downside to starting over is that you lose the settings you have set. This means that you will have to register your face or fingerprint for Touch ID on the iPhone. It could take some time.

You'll also have to install and set up any custom ringtones, and then add them to your contacts if you did so separately. If you would like to access the photos on your iPhone it is necessary to enable iCloud Photo Library.

Like walking in quicksand

It's extremely frustrating having to start all over on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad and then re-download the content from those cloud services that you enjoy so often. You may want to show your brother the adorable picture of your son. However, it could take some time until everything is back on your phone.
